Services at our school
Angela Deighan's Montessori School is a well established purpose built preschool and full daycare facility opened since 2007 in Virginia, Co Cavan. We care, nurture and educate children from the age of 3yrs +.
We educate through the Montessori Method which is based on observation methods of the child. Children are naturally eager to learn and are ready to learn from our carefully prepared learning environments be that in the classroom or outside.
Learning happens through experiences. Children learn in a multi-sensory way and at their own pace. Children at our school are free to explore their own interests and we love to challenge and stimulate their learning experiences during their education with us. We encourage the children to compete with themselves and not with each other.
Learning at Angela Deighan's Montessori is a discovery process.We build independance , concentration and self motivation. Each class at our school is a community in which the children share their experiences and discoveries with each other. A teacher trained with either an Early years degree with a love of the Montessori philosophy or a certified Montessori teacher will educate your child.
Montessori (First)
2-3 years; Pre-Montessori class providing an introduction to Montessori. The session is structured providing short structured activities encorporating the Montessori and Aistear curriculum

Montessori (Second)
3-4 years; This Montessori Class will be structured around the teachings of Dr. Montessori and the Aistear Curriculum. Your child will experience a structured learning environment utilising our extensive range of Montessori equipment and prepared activities of the class teacher. The children will learn at their own pace and interest and get ready for the transition into National School.
9am -12pm And 12:30- 3:30 Daily APPROXIMATE TIMES
Breakfast Club
8:00- 9am
Arrive early for morning care with or without breakfast. (Breakfast available until 8.15am)
Full Day Care
As per sufficient enrollments
8:00-6pm
Our children who attend full day care will be included in all aspects of our Montessori day plus including rest, relaxation and lesuire.
Lunch Bunch (Formally Stay and Play)
stay till 3pm
Our Morning Montessori Children are welcome to register for extended care providing them with a hot meal, care and afternoon activities.
AfterSchool Care
2- 3pm - 6pm
We offer Afterschool Care and developed a unique service which puts our afterschooler's needs first. To complete homework and enjoy structured recreation or simple relaxation after their busy day at National School.
Afternoon Hourly Rates
Registered children can drop in between 3-6 pm provided there is space . This is great for parents so they can complete tasks such as appointments and grocery shopping.
