Our Mission at our After-school club is to provide a stimulating and varied programme. We will introduce the children to a wide and interesting range of activities and events. We will support the children with the help and encouragement from their parents by providing a relaxed and flexible service where children are cared for, engaged and most of all happy.
We aim with your help to provide a fun and safe environment for your child.
Timetable of Events is created each term in conjuction with the children
These activities will be available after homework completion. Your child is welcome to opt out and revise homework or read a book of choice from home.
Outdoor time will be scheduled weather permitting daily
The After School Program will be open from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday to provide quality after school care for children attending St. Mary’s Primary School.
(other children attending our afterschool from other schools may sign up to our programme but must also seek pick up and drop off by an alternative party)
Afterschool children are escorted to and from school on foot we ask parents to ensure weather appropriate labelled clothing. Angela Deighan’s Montessori School will not be responsible for missing belongings.
The After School Program will be closed whenever St. Mary’s Primary School is closed. If school is cancelled due to weather while the children are in school, The After School Program will also be closed.
Afterschool children must be in attendance for a minimum of two sessions per week. Ad hoc days are at the discretion of our facility and must be approved prior to attendance, by calling the school before 10am of that day.
The After School Program will provide a daily nutritious afternoon meal. If your child dislikes our meal please ensure they have alternative snacks in their bag.
Although we request your cooperation in not disturbing the program. We do ask that you notify a member of staff of approximate pick up times, so your child will be ready and belongings packed for dismissal.
While every attempt will be made to protect your child’s personal property, The After School Program will not be responsible for any articles brought to the program.
The parent/guardian maybe required to wait a short time when picking up their child. For your child’s protection, the attendance will be signed by the dismissing staff member upon each dismissal and of course arrival.
Only authorized adults will be allowed to pick up your child.
Positive reinforcement is our primary method of maintaining discipline in The After School Program. In those cases where our discipline procedure of time-out, isolation, counselling, parental contact and behaviour redirection are not effective; the child may be removed from the program by the Manager.
Damage to Afterschool property, if a child purposely damages, misuses or breaks property in the Afterschool the Parents will be asked to cover costs.
The After School Program will not administer medication without first obtaining medical administration policies from the parent/guardian. If the child’s temperature reaches 38 degrees +, or the child appears to be ill, the parent will be called to immediately pick up the child.
In the event of a severe injury or life-threatening situation I understand the after-school personnel have my permission to perform first Aid and to obtain emergency medical care for my child.
In order to meet the special needs of a child, The After School Program has the parent’s permission to coordinate efforts with the St. Mary’s Primary School
Every child attending must have a completely filled out, current enrollment and immunization form on file. It is the parent’s responsibility to keep us informed of any changes in contacts, numbers, health issues etc. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to inform the staff of allergies.
